Indoor Air Quality (IAQ)

Workers spend a significant amount of time indoors, and the quality of air within indoor work environments has a direct impact on the health, well-being and productivity of those workers. Contributing factors to poor indoor air quality (IAQ) include poor external air quality, inadequate or poor ventilation, and exposure to a range of chemicals, biological agents and other contaminants in the workplace air. Poor IAQ can cause a variety of both short-term and long-term health problems.

As was evident during the coronavirus disease 2020 (COVID-19) pandemic, sufficient ventilation and air filtration was an important factor in reducing the risk of aerosol transmission of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARSCoV-2), the virus that causes COVID-19. The Irish Health & safety Authority have since carried out detailed analysis on the practices deployed by companies with regard to indoor air quality and have consequently released a 'Code of Practice for Indoor Air Quality'. This document outlines how indoor air quality assessments should be carried out in the work place and associated recommendations. This is available to download here:

Our solutions for indoor air quality monitoring are unique and combine the latest technology with our vast experience  in the controls industry. Our proprietary touchscreens provide an awareness of the current environmental conditions in the workplace and do not require any internet or wifi to display the IAQ data.

We do of course offer a cloud service if required and also connectivity to your Building Management System if there is one present.

We offer multiple options for reading your data via multiple protocols and  many ways that your data can be visualised. Our touchscreen solutions provide workers with an unambiguous display of all Air Quality readings in the work place.

Mutelcor IoT Sensor

Do you want your employees to work in mediocre conditions and perform poorly, or do you want them to be vibrant and productive?

Excellent indoor air quality will boost the performance of all. The main environmental parameters you must consider addressing are four, Particulate Matter (PM10), Carbon Dioxide (CO2), Temperatures, Humidity and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC)

LoRawan Wireless Networks

The LoRaWAN® specification is a Low Power, Wide Area (LPWA) networking protocol designed to wirelessly connect battery operated and powered ‘things’ to the internet in regional, national or global networks. Unlike Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, it can send data securely over longer distances whilst consuming considerably less power.

Without having access to real-time information/data on air quality it is not possible to make changes to improve it. We at Critical-Environments have multiple solutions for displaying this data to ensure that both workers and management can quickly assess the data which allows them to improve the air quality in the work place if required. Through collaboration and engagement with their employees, companies can make simple

improvements to ensure the good health and well-being of all employees.

Visualizing IAQ Data

Choosing the correct sensor for your application is critical to ensure that you get accurate data and also provides a visual status of the environmental parameters. We have conducted extensive testing on a multitude of sensors and are happy to offer sensors that are accurate, reliable, robust and fit for purpose.
